Rev. Sally Bingham to speak
October 27, 2005 Ministerial Alliance meeting
St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, Kenwood Reverend Sally Bingham
from the Episcopal Cathedral in San Francisco will be the featured speaker
on Thursday, October 27, at a meeting of the Santa Rosa Ministerial Alliance.
Rev. Bingham has played a major role in organizing California
Interfaith Power and Light, a statewide organization of over 300 congregations
of all faiths that have committed to reducing conventional energy use
and the threat of global warming.
All congregations now face sharply higher energy bills. Evidence
continues to mount of climate change that is believed to contribute to
major events such as Hurricane Katrina and severe droughts and floods.
Several local churches have installed or are evaluating solar systems
to reduce costs and emissions. Representatives of three local area solar
firms will attend the meeting to answer questions and provide background
information.
Ann Hancock, Director of the Climate Protection Campaign in Sonoma
County, will also give some brief remarks on the goals and achievements
to date of this Campaign.
Please contact the St. Patrick's office if you are interested
in attending, (707) 833-4228 or info@stpatskenwood.org
